Student Chromebook Guidelines & Procedures

The Chromebook initiative continues to expand and grow throughout the district, providing more teachers and students with access to devices. For the 2019-2020 school year, Rocky Hill Public Schools is pleased to expand the 1:1 Chromebook Initiative to students in grades 3 and 4. To date, students in grades 3 through 12 are provided with a district-assigned Chromebook for use on a daily basis. Students in grades 7-12 who are enrolled in the Chromebook Protection Program take the Chromebooks home with them and use them daily in classes. We look forward to another successful year in engaging students in a digital learning envionrment.

Chromebook Policies & Procedures:

  • Students in grades 3-6 have access to a Chromebook for daily use in school, but are not permitted to take them home or out of district.
  • Students in grades 7-12 may take their Chromebooks home or out of district upon enrolling in the Chromebook Protection Program.
  • Students, Parent(s) and Guardian(s) in grades 7-12 must review and sign a Student District Device Agreement (see Technology Forms and Documents).
  • All students, Parent(s) and Guardian(s) must review the Technology and Instruction: Acceptable Use of the Computer Network, Section 6142 and sign an Acceptable Use Policy prior to using any technology device from which they may access the Internet.
  • All students, Parent(s) and Guardian(s) are strongly encouraged to review and refer to the Student Chromebook Guidelines & Procedures guide. It is a great resource for parents and students to learn how to properly care for and use their device.
