Minutes of Meeting

A special meeting of the Facilities Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Thursday, June 17, 2004, in the superintendent's conference room. Present were: J. Kirk Bostwick, Catherine Vargas, Peter Arico, Anne Schmidt, Director of Finance & Operations Gregory P. Turansky, Principal Louis Pear, Principal Cori Marino, and Supt. of Schools Dr. J. A. Camille Vautour. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.

A status report on McVicar field was provided. Apparently some water entered at one of the seams and was reviewed by Parks & Recreation with the use of consultants. It was concluded there was no major problem and work would move forward to completion.

Discussion was held on the re-flooring of West Hill School. Completion of the project will span two years. During the 2004-05 school year, the cafeteria and kindergarten corridor classes will be redone. Mr. Pear and Ms. Marino were asked to provide input on colors to be selected.

Mr. Bostwick indicated that the library media center will remain a carpeted area and that use of carpet tiles was being explored.

The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
