Minutes of Meeting

A special meeting of the Finance Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Thursday, May 19, 2005, in the superintendent's conference room. Present were: Anne Schmidt, Nadine Bell, Catherine Vargas, Peter Arico, Francis Palazzolo, Neil Geldof, Director of Finance & Operations Gregory P. Turansky, and Supt. of Schools Dr. J. A. Camille Vautour. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Vautour reviewed the status of 2005-06 budget. He indicated that $227,000 had been identified in insurance to address the portion of the Council cut. He indicated that enrollment changes in the high school resulted in a decrease of 1.0 FTE in business education and .20 FTE in science.

Dr. Vautour recommended that money realized through these reductions be applied against the remaining $56,909 cut. He also indicated that sufficient funds existed to increase guidance by .5 FTE in response to NEASC recommendations.

Committee consensus was to accept Dr. Vautour’s recommendations and approve a budget of $23,069,627 for 2005-06.

The meeting adjourned at 6:50 a.m.
