Minutes of Meeting

A special meeting of the Facilities Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Thursday, November 18, 2004, in the superintendent's conference room. Present were: J. Kirk Bostwick, Catherine Vargas, Peter Arico, Nadine Bell, Anne Schmidt, Director of Finance & Operations Gregory P. Turansky, and Supt. of Schools Dr. J. A. Camille Vautour. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.

Capitol Projects

Dr. Vautour distributed a list of capitol project requests submitted by building administrators. Items on the list were coded for purposes of priority. Mr. Bostwick indicated committee members should review the material and be ready to make recommendations for inclusion in the 2005-06 budget at the committee’s December meeting.

Feasibility Study

Mr. Bostwick indicated that Mr. Cooke has been asked to revise the original RFQ on the auxiliary gym and storage at the high school to encompass a comprehensive review of space issues and needs in all of our schools. Mr. Bostwick indicated that in his experience the $20,000 allocated for the original RFQ should be more than sufficient to cover the costs for the comprehensive study of district space issues. Mr. Bostwick indicated he would report to the full Board on this matter.

The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
