Minutes of Meeting

 

 

A special meeting of the Facilities Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Thursday, April 13, 2006, in the superintendent's conference room.  Present were:  Committee Chair Peter Arico, Committee Member Nadine Bell, Director, Finance and Operations, Gregory P. Turansky, and Supt. of Schools J. A. Camille Vautour.  The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m.

 

Feasibility Study

Committee members reviewed information provided by Jim Sollmi of the Town’s Engineering Department.  Specifically, committee members were provided with a town map identifying plots of land that are a minimum of 20 acres in size and have the potential for development.  For each parcel, Mr. Sollmi provided detailed information on topography, utilities, etc.

 

Committee members clustered the 33 parcels of land under one of our headings:

 

Topographical Concerns

  • Commercial Zone
  • Park Lane
  • All Other

 

Depicted in grid form are all the land parcels reviewed.  Committee members concluded that parcels in the first two categories should be eliminated from further consideration.  With respect to “Park Land”, committee members would like to meet with Mr. Sollmi to discuss deed restrictions, etc.  With respect to parcels labeled “All Other” committee members decided they warranted further review.

 

Dr. Vautour was asked to invite Mr. Sollmi to the Facilities meeting on March 26 at 8:15 a.m.

 

The meeting adjourned 5:00 p.m.
