Minutes of Meeting
A special meeting of the Facilities
Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Thursday, May 4,
2006, in the superintendent's conference room.
Present were: Committee Chair Peter
Arico; Committee Members Nadine
Feasibility Study - Land Availability
Committee members clarified the
twelve potential parcels of land that could be considered for construction of a
new school. A request was made to
clarify what restrictions exist on
Mr. Arico proposed that the committee seriously consider Option 4 of the Schoenhardt report – building a new middle school. After considerable discussion Mrs. Bell and Mr. Rivard indicated that the preferred solution should be Option 5 – a new high school. Mr. Arico indicated he could support that proposition.
Before making a formal recommendation to the full Board, committee members requested further information on how much excess space would exist under Option 4 and Option 5. Dr. Vautour was asked to seek information on this topic from Mark Hopper, Schoenhardt Architect.
The meeting adjourned 9:30 a.m.
