Minutes of Meeting

A special meeting of the Facilities Committee of the Rocky Hill Board of Education was held on Thursday, September 7, 2006, in the superintendent's conference room.  Present were:  Committee Chair Peter Arico; Committee Members Nadine Bell and Rene Rivard; Board Members Neil Geldof and Charles McMonigle; Director, Finance & Operations Gregory P. Turansky; and Supt. of Schools J. A. Camille Vautour.  The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Minutes from the August 29, 2006 Forum were distributed and committee members identified the questions that needed to be responded to at the next Forum.  Additionally, committee members cross referenced their individual notes to make sure that all issues raised at the August 29th Forum were identified.

 

Administration was asked to prepare a set of responses for review by committee members prior to the September 20, 2006 Forum.

 

Committee members raised questions concerning school security.  Mr. Rivard asked what was being done concerning recommendations made by the police department.  Dr. Vautour indicated that a meeting was scheduled for September 20 involving the Town Manager, Chief of Police, Fire Chief, Director of Facilities and the Superintendent of Schools.  Dr. Vautour indicated that he expected to share information with the full Board on the evening of September 21st.

 

The meeting adjourned 10:40 a.m.
