Brian Dillon
Board Vice-Chairperson

Brian A. Dillon – Board of Education

I have had the privilege of serving the people of Rocky Hill for the past three years on the
Board of Education.  Prior to serving on the Board of Education, I served the residents of Rocky Hill for six-years on the Planning and Zoning Commission of which I was elected Chairman for two of those six years.

I have lived in Rocky Hill for the past twelve years with my wife, Kimberly and our two
children, Madison and Gavin. Both of my children currently attend Rocky Hill Public Schools which allows me greater insight to better understand and evaluate the needs of our schools from the two most important perspectives; that as a parent and a taxpayer. As such, over the past three years I have continued to act in a bi-partisan manner by putting the needs of this community and its children first and politics second.

In my professional background and experience, I have been involved in the development and management of numerous large scale planning and construction projects for a variety of entities.  These have included large scale retail developments, telecommunication sites and state and municipal government projects.  I am also actively involved in community programs with my children serving on the Board of Directors for Rocky Hill Little League and volunteering as a coach for park and recreation sports.

I currently serve as the Chairperson of the Board of Education Facilities Committee. I am also a member of the Finance Committee and Town Joint Facilities Committee (“JFC”). As chair of the Facilities Committee and member of the JFC, I continue to advocate for a commitment to a dedicated long term capital improvement plan to maintain our current school building facilities and make the required capital investments needed to keep our schools current with updated building code and safety requirements.

My primary goal as a Board of Education Member is to provide quality education for all Rocky Hill students in an appropriate, safe and modern environment which will prepare the children of this community to be successful in whatever future endeavors they intend to pursue. While I recognize that these efforts need to be balanced against ongoing fiscal constraints; I continue to work to get our schools modernized from a facility, technology and curriculum perspective to ensure that the residents of Rocky Hill are proud of the investments that this community is making in the education of its children.
