Maria Mennella

Maria Mennella– Board of Education

Maria Mennella has been a member of the Board of Education since 2008.  In her first term, she was a member of the Finance Committee, Curriculum Committee, Policy Committee, Transportation Committee, Personnel and Negotiations Committee, and Special Representative on Professional Development.

Currently, she is Chairwoman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Facilities Committee and the Personnel and Negotiations Committee.  Although she is not a formal member of the Curriculum and Facilities subcommittees, she tries to stay involved by attending as many meetings as she can and stay focused and up-to-date with the district goals.

Maria works full-time for the State of Connecticut-Judicial Branch as a Grant Accountant.  She is married to Mike Mennella and they have made Rocky Hill their home since 1997.  Maria and her husband have three boys who attend school in Rocky Hill.  Their family likes to be actively involved in school events and town events.

Maria's goal as a Board of Education Member is to further advance the education of the children in Rocky Hill so that they are ready to compete in a global society.  Maria feels that the Town of Rocky Hill can do this in a fiscally responsible way.  She also appreciates listening to and answering parents' questions and concerns regarding the Rocky Hill School district.  Maria is proud to take full responsibility for her position as a member of the Board of Education.
